The intensity was measured from the maximal projections (with no other manipulation) as locations approximately 5 µm proximal or distal to either the proximal or distal bleached/unbleached border. Note the gradual increase in fluorescence in the bleached region and the gradual decline of fluorescence in the unbleached region.
