(A) Fluid phase endocytosis was monitored by following uptake of the fluorescent dye lucifer yellow (see Materials and Methods). Wild-type cells show uptake of the dye into vacuoles. Over the same time period {Delta}sla1 cells show a reduction in uptake whereas {Delta}sla2 and the {Delta}sla1{Delta}sla2 cells show little or no detectable internalisation of the dye. Bar, 10 µm.
