Total protein extracts prepared from wild-type (lanes 1, 3 and 5) or {Delta}p54 (lanes 2, 4 and 6) pupae (20 hours APF) were fractionated on native polyacrylamide gel and immunoblotted with a monoclonal antibody specific for subunit p42C present in the base subcomplex (lanes 1 and 2), with a monoclonal antibody specific for a subunit p39 present in the lid subcomplex (lanes 3 and 4) or with a polyclonal antibody specific for the 20S proteasome, the catalytic core (lanes 5 and 6).
