gold-conjugated secondary antibody was added to visualise the labelled sites,
and the sections were finally embedded in polyvinyl alcohol. Small arrows

labelled BR particles. A schematic drawing outlining the assembly and
transport of BR particles is shown below the electron micrographs. Large
