The hFis1 transmembrane domain spanning the mitochondrial outer membrane is depicted in black near the C-terminal end. Wild-type hFis1 (hFis1-WT) contains six {alpha}-helices ({alpha}1-{alpha}6) in its cytosolic domain. Helices {alpha}2-{alpha}3 and {alpha}4-{alpha}5 form the two TPR motifs, TPR1 and TPR2, respectively.
