Then, the cells were assayed for uptake of ¹²⁵I-labeled transferrin at 37°C for 15 minutes as described in the Materials and Methods, and the incorporated radioactivity was quantified using a -counter. Results are the means ± s.d. of quadruplicate samples from one of two experiments.
