Nuclear genes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis, including PGC-1{alpha}, are upregulated as a consequence, leading to increased mitochondrial biogenesis, as well as resistance to stress and diminished fat synthesis, mainly throughout SIRT1 gene expression.
