The surface antigens of HeLa-Ehrlich ascites cell heterokaryons were studied by mixed immune haemadsorption and by a development of this technique which permitted two surface antigens to be simultaneously marked, one with killed bacteria and the other with erythrocytes. Antigens of both species were present on the surfaces of heterokaryons and appeared to be randomly mixed. Small clones of hybrid cells containing both HeLa and Ehrlich surface antigens were detected.
