Heliospora n.g. and Rotundula n.g., Gregarines of Gammarus pulex

HELEN PIXELL GOODRICH 1

1 Department of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy, Oxford

From this study of the unknown stages in the life-histories of the two polycystid gregarines, which have been known for just 100 years in Gammarus pulex L., it is concluded that the long thread-like one should be Heliospora longissima (Siebold) and the short rounded one Rotundula gammari (Diesing), and that some other Amphipods have the same or similar gregarines.
