The N-terminal domain (red) localises the kinase to the centrosomes (grey) through an interaction with a hypothetical protein (blue) that binds to microtubules (black), the localisation being microtubule-dependent. Then the kinase binds to its substrates (yellow), which stabilises the localisation so that it becomes microtubule-independent.
