This movie shows the distribution and dynamics of a neuronal calcium sensor-1/yellow fluorescent protein hybrid, NCS-1-EYFP, in a differentiated PC12 cell. NCS-1-EYFP is distributed diffusely and in puncta, suggesting its presence in the cytosol and on small, vesicular organelles. Some organelles containing NCS-1-EYFP move in a rapid, directed manner, some move in a slow, random manner and some are highly immobile.

Movie 2

This movie shows the distribution and dynamics of organelles containing a synaptophysin/green fluorescent protein hybrid, synaptophysin-EGFP, in a differentiated PC12 cell. Synaptophysin-EGFP is distributed on small vesicular organelles within the cell body, neurites and termini. These organelles move to and from the somatic cell surface along relatively circuitous trajectories and remain predominantly mobile after entering the termini.
