Myo5c is particularly enriched in the apical portion of the epithelial cells, where it colocalizes with F-actin. The basolateral portions of these cells, which extend 30 µm, exhibit some Myo5c staining but relatively little F-actin staining. The surrounding interstitial cells are faintly stained by F-actin but exhibit little or no Myo5c staining and appear black.
