A range of effects were observed for transfection with wild-type lamin A on the endogenous emerin: little or no effect on the distribution of emerin (B); partial relocation of emerin to the nucleus, with significant amounts of emerin remaining in the ER (C,D); and efficient relocation of emerin from the ER to the nucleus (E).
