  Fig. S1. Demonstration of lack of co-localisation of KChIP1-EYFP with ER, mitochondrial proteins and markers of the endosomal pathway. HeLa cells were transfected to express KChIP1-EYFP, fixed, immunostained with the indicated antibodies visualised with Texas Red-streptavidin and imaged by laser scanning confocal microscopy. Some cells were incubated with biotin-transferrin for 30 minutes and after fixation, biotin-transferrin was detected using Texas Red-streptavidin. Black and white images are shown in each case for KChIP1-EYFP and antibody staining as indicated with overlaid images shown in colour (KCHIP-EYFP in green and antibody staining in red with overlap seen in yellow).
