Bone density and body composition were analyzed by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry in live animals at different times up to 4 months. (A) Total body bone mineral density (BMD) was significantly reduced in OG2-Ncad{Delta}C mice during the first 3 months of age–when BMD accumulates–compared with wild-type littermates, whereas percent body fat (B) and body weight (C) were significantly higher in OG2-Ncad{Delta}C mice compared with wild-type littermates during the first 3 months of age. *P<0.05, two-way ANOVA.
