Leftmost panels show whole cell morphology by DIC, and the rightmost panels show the same cells stained with filipin. No intracellular accumulation of sterols was detectable by filipin staining in sla2/end4-1 cells (RH286-1C) as compared with wild type (W.T.; W303-1A).
