Movie 1. (see Fig. 4A) Time-lapse photomicroscopy of a typical control HeLa cell replated on plastic exhibiting rounds of protrusion and retraction. Pictures were captured every 5 minutes for a total of 5 hours. At the end of the movie the length of the cell was 50 mm.
Movie 2. (see Fig. 4B) Time-lapse photomicroscopy of a typical PHI-1-depleted HeLa cell replated on plastic. Note that the cell does not retract during the entire 5-hour period, while extension continues unaffected producing an extremely elongated cell morphology. At the end of the movie the length of the cell was 150 mm.
