Sticky Wicket - asking the right questions
Scientific research is all about asking questions. "What defines lunch?" is perhaps not the best example. Nevertheless, JCS's resident insectivore, Mole, uses it in his column as the basis for examining how we do science. Discussing the approaches of Einstein, Eigen, Polyani, amongst others, and taking in reductionism along the way, Mole asks where you want the investigation to take you and whom the answer is intended to please (see p. 653).
