The enrichment of mitochondria in membrane/organelle fractions was checked by the use of VDAC-1 and citrate synthase mitochondrial markers. Membrane/organelle-enriched fractions contain mitochondria (M.F.), while the cytoplasmic fraction (C.F.) does not.
