(A) REF cells were co-transfected with pEGFP-N1 and vector encoding dnPKCα and either grown with (+FCS) or without (–FCS) serum for 16 hours. Some serum-starved cultures were treated for 30 minutes with LPA or vehicle alone, fixed and stained for F-actin. Bar, 50 μm.

  Fig. S2. Overexpression of dnPKCδ affects the REF cytoskeleton, whereas dnPKCε does not impair stress fibres. REF cells were co-transfected with pEGFP-N1 plasmid and either empty vector or vector encoding for dnPKCδ or ε. Twenty-four hours after transfection, cells were cultured with (+FCS) or without (–FCS) serum for a further 16 hours, fixed and stained for F-actin. Bar, 50 μm.
