  Movie 1. Ca²⁺ dynamics in a Paramecium cell. After microinjection of Fluo-4 dextran and a recovery time of 15 minutes, Ca²⁺ signals were recorded. A large Ca²⁺ signal is travelling throughout the whole cell. Superimposed to this global Ca²⁺ wave, spontaneous Ca²⁺ signals occur in close proximity to the ORS at both contractile vacuoles.
