After fixation and permeabilization, the cells were labelled with antibodies against the indicated endogenous proteins CD63 (lysosomes), MPR (cation-dependent mannose 6-phosphate receptor, late endosomes) and EEA1 (early endosomes). (E) Confocal micrographs of NRK cells expressing Arl8b-GFP. Lysosomes were labelled with endocytosed dextran-tetramethylrhodamine using a four hour pulse at 1 mg/ml, followed by a 20-hour chase.
