Fig. S1. CTGF regulates integrin αvβ3 in human breast cancer cells. (A) Integrin-subunit expression levels in T47D, MCF-7- and MDA-MB-231-derived cell lines. Expression of integrin subunits were detected in MCF-7/neo, MCF-7/CTGF, MDA231/neo, MDA231/AS, and T47D cells by RT-PCR. (B) Distribution of integrin αvβ3 in MCF-7- and in MDA-MB-231-derived cell lines. Serum-starved MCF-7/neo, MCF-7/CTGF, MDA231/neo, and MDA231/AS cells were fixed in 3.7% paraformaldehyde. Fixed cells were co-stained using anti-integrin αvβ3 antibody (left panel) and DAPI (right panel). (C) Integrin αvβ3 expression levels in T47D, MCF-7- and MDA-MB-231-derived cell lines. Expression of integrin subunits was detected in MCF-7/neo, MCF-7/CTGF, MDA231/neo, MDA231/AS, and T47D cells by flow cytometry. Flow cytometry analysis was carried out with anti-integrin αvβ3 or its isotype antibodies to examine cell-surface expression of the integrin αvβ3 in these cells.
