  Movie 1. The first movie shows the cilia of the KO7neo3 mutant. Note that the mutant cilia appear to ‘swivel’ at their base and that they are not well-coordinated with neighboring cilia.

• Movie 2 -

  Movie 2. The second movie shows the ciliary beating of the wild type (CU427). Note the coordinated, metachronal beating pattern and the propagating bending in each individual cilium. Both of these movies were made from free-swimming, unrestrained cells at 500 frames/second.
