  Fig. S1. Growth and shrinkage rates of wild-type and mor1-1 microtubules measured in GFP-TUA-expressing cells at 31°C. From the time lapse images of microtubules expressing GFP-TUA in both wild-type and mor1-1 at the restrictive temperature (31°C), growth rates and shrinkage rates were calculated. Epidermal cells on the abaxial surface of first leaves from 11-day to 12-day-old seedlings were used. Growth rates and shrinkage rates were significantly decreased in mor1-1 (both P<0.001). Bars are s.d. Data were collected from 41 microtubules from three cells from three different plants for wild-type and 61 microtubules from four cells from two different plants for mor1-1.

  Fig. S2. Microtubule minus-end dynamics in Arabidopsis thaliana pavement cells expressing GFP-TUB. Relative time spent in pause, shrinkage and growth are compared here for wild-type and mor1-1 cells at both 21°C and 31°C. Epidermal cells on the abaxial surface of first leaves from 11-day-old to 12-day-old seedlings were used. Data were collected from seven microtubules (18 time frames) for wild type at 21°C, from six microtubules (22 time frames) for wild type at 31°C, from seven microtubules (18 time frames) for mor1-1 at 21°C, and from ten microtubules (29 time frames) for mor1-1 at 31°C.
