About the Cover
Cover: Cortical granule formation in growing oocytes of the nematode C. elegans. The cortical granules contain synaptobrevin 1 (green), mucin-like glycoproteins (red) and essential chondroitin proteoglycans. After fertilisation, the cortical granules synchronously fuse with the plasma membrane and deliver their cargos to the early embryonic extracellular matrices. See article by M. Sato et al. (pp. 3177-3186).
