Cover: 
II and V Spectrin form the spectrin lattice underneath the lateral plasma membrane of the auditory outer hair cells. The composite image shows two auditory sensory organ whole mounts. One was stained for the widespread II spectrin (red), the other was stained for V spectrin (green), which is expressed in hair cells, preferentially in the three rows of outer hair cells.
