About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Human epithelial HeLaS3 cells expressing GFP-NOD2 (green), stained for CD147 (red) and DAPI as a DNA counterstain (blue). NOD2 is an intracellular innate immune receptor for the bacterial cell-wall component muramyl-dipeptide. The interaction of NOD2 and CD147, a membrane-bound regulator of cellular migration, differentiation and inflammatory processes, at the cellular membrane is involved in the regulation of bacterial cytoinvasion and NOD2-dependent activation of NF-B. See article by A. Till et al. (pp. 487-495).
