Fig. S1. HLA I retainment. Intracellular HLA I accumulation (quantified by flow cytometry) was not observed in naïve hESC, but was induced by IB transfection. We did not find HLA I accumulation after siRNA treatment or combined siRNA + IB knockdown, which was used to create hESCKD.

Fig. S2. Teratoma growth. Tumor growth was observed in all SCID-beige mice (a) 80 days after hESC transplantation. The tumors generated high BLI signals (b). Histology confirmed that the tumors were teratomas (c) derived from all three germ layers (A: adipose tissue; B: bone; C: cartilage; D: primitive duct; En: immature entodermal epithelium; Me: primitive mesenchyme; N: immature neural tissue (neuroblasts and rosettes); Sm: smooth muscles bundles; V: blood vessels).
